12th Century Belt Instructions
Belt Parts:
- Main Belt (is the longest piece with Buckle–1 and Tongue–1)
- Buckle Strap (shortest piece with Buckle–2 and Frog–2)
- Frog (the folded leather part with a laced tie, attaches to scabbard)
- Buckle
- Tongue (tip of belt with holes for buckle)
Instructions:
- Lay belt on the floor as shown in the left side of image (above). Be sure the decorative conchos (metal pieces) are on the top (facing up). The setting studs are on the inside of the belt.
- Attach Frog–1 to the top of your sword scabbard. Push it down the scabbard so there is enough room to attach Frog–2 above it. (See right side of image above, also image below.)
- Put Main Belt on by attaching Buckle–1 to Tongue–1 (normal). This is worn a bit high (the top level in photo below).
- Bring Buckle–2 forward from your lower left towards your naval area (under Main Belt) as in photo below (sword on left hip).
- Bring Tongue–2 behind your back, wrap around right side of body to your front, and attach to Buckle–2.
Completed, it should be worn like the photo below:
