Roman Legionnaire Chain Mail

Roman Legionnaire chainmail was often modified to better suit the wearer. This version demonstrates traditional leather lined doublings (shoulder pieces) and sleeves that cover the top of the shoulder. The longer length provided additional protection for foot soldiers without being cumbersome.

Our standard Roman Centurion chainmail is made from butted 8mm rings of mild carbon steel that has been zinc coated to prevent rusting. Also available in lighter aluminum for improved comfort. Choose from butted or riveted 8mm rings. One size shirt fits most (up to 44 inches).
