Lorica Segmentata
One style of Roman soldier costumes often have a layered breastplate called a Lorica Segmentata which was more common for Roman troopers (Legionnaires).
Designed after historical Roman armor, our version is made of high-carbon steel, is quite flexible and allows plenty of freedom of movement. Of the Roman Lorica Segmentata styles, this is our favorite and very popular with groups creating Roman soldier costumes for events. One size fits most (up to 48 inches).
What is the difference?
You may notice our import special (ARM1037, Roman Lorica Segmentata VIII) is very similar to this armor. The main difference is a slight variation in the pauldrons (upper arm covering)… and where we buy them (our cost is double). During times when we are sold out of our import special (ARM1037), we can often get this items for you as an alternative... when you have to have something now!
