When you compare the original Factory-X Gladiator Helmets (Maximus helmets from the movie Gladiator) to various copies being made today, you will see significant differences. Yes, all copies must have design changes to avoid copyright issues with the Factory-X version... but, other companies want you to think poorly designed helmets are all you can get.

This is not true - and we hope you will agree that our Maximus helmet is the undisputed replica champion.

If you look closely at the original, you will see there are only a few very minor design differences in our version.

• Our spikes are a bit larger (which people like)
• The exact placement of each spike had to be altered (and we use a lot of spikes - no skimping!)
• The brass starburst securing the faceplate is now a screw (all copies had to make this change)

Enlarge the photo to see what we are taking about, and then compare it to any other versions of Gladiator helmets you are considering. We have seen it all. Everything from helmets with no spikes (priced at $80), to those with flat studs or round ball-like studs (priced $130-$180). Some designs are even missing the metal plume (spike top crest). Others made their metal plumes to look like a diving board... only a simple forward protrusion with no form (very embarrassing).

Deception in the market:
If you look really close, you will even find some websites who have changed the movie poster photo so it includes their poorly designed helmet on the body of Russell Crowe. They hope you will not notice and simply think you are getting a genuine Gladiator helmet of Maximus (personally, we think this is very deceptive).
