This axe head design was common in the mid 14th century for a knight axe. As armor became harder to penetrate, round spikes were added, but they would often break off. This medieval axe has a large beak spike. The beak style spike is flatter and more narrow than the rounded spike. This allowed for good penetration and was also strong enough for knights to pry free quickly.

This medieval axe features a high polished axe head with a 3 inch spike. The unique hardwood handle design has been enhanced to prevent the axe head from flying off the handle or sliding down the handle (unlike most other axes).

A leather cover for both the blade and spike is included free of charge.
