The Norman Nasal Helmet design is a less expensive version of the single piece helmet. Due to its ease of construction, it soon became very commonly worn starting in the 11th century.

Typical 11th century helmets had a somewhat conical shape with a nasal or nose guard. Nasal Helmets could be made from a single piece of iron while others were riveted from four panels or constructed as a "Spangenhelm".

Our version of the Norman Nasal Helmet incorporates the best of these designs. Each quarter-panel has a double row of rivets and a single nose guard. The lines of this design are extremely appealing... and hard to find. (opening 11 inches)

Note: Helmet padding (or an arming cap) is highly recommended (otherwise, the steel helmet is resting directly on your scalp).
