Main Gauche - Musketeer

The French Musketeer always needed a good main gauche with his rapier as a weapon. Notice the beautiful etched French style cross on the hilt.

The wood grip of this Musketeer main gauche is wrapped with twisted wire, and the gleaming nickel plated parts of the hilt are outstanding. Hand forged from high-carbon steel.

The main gauche was often combined with the rapier for a two handed fighting style. Carried at the back for a left hand draw, Musketeer Main Gauche blade has cut-outs and notches designed to disrupt (or slow) an opponent's blade, while protecting the hand with the knuckle bow.
