Practical Plus Katana (SH2073) Classic Series

The ultimate line of Samurai katana and Japanese swords are made by Hanwei. The Practical Plus Katana blade is especially designed for people who are new to sword cutting (untrained in formal techniques). The blades are very forgiving of poor cutting forms and designed to prevent warping. Each sword in the Practical Plus series are handmade in the traditional ways using quality materials, pegs, high-carbon steel, master craftsmanship and can be fully disassembled.

The Practical Plus Katana provides a very economical cutting sword, but using more traditional fittings and construction methods than the Practical series. The blade is forged and differentially hardened in the traditional claying method with a prominent hamon. The Practical Plus Katana features genuine Same (Rayskin) on the Tsuka, with a wrap (Tsuka-Ito) specially developed for its gripping qualities. The long tang is double-pegged for security. The fittings of the Practical Plus are decorated in a Japanese Dogwood motif with dragon menuki, and the handsome Tsuba is of an iron sunburst design with a brass habaki.
