Manufacturer’s Note: These battle ready swords are made of thick high-carbon spring steel. Typically sheets of steel are measured for thickness and assigned a gauge rating (10 gauge, 12, 14, 18). The lower the gauge, the thicker the steel and strength of the blade. Because of the hand forging, the “gauge” of these blades will often range between 1/4 inch thick to 3/16 inch thick at the hand guard (or estimated between 10 gauge and 14 gauge).
Sword Cleaning Instructions Regular use of sword cleaning kits to maintain high carbon steel swords helps prevent deterioration. (Initial cleaning of this sword is needed to remove protective coating.) |
