Legionnaire Metal Roman Shield

Roman shields were assigned to every Roman soldier just as swords and their uniforms were. To meet the unique needs of the Legionnaire, the Romans incorporated a curved rectangular design which allowed the shield to function better and be less cumbersome in battle.

Based upon original designs used centuries ago, this metal version is fabulous. With a traditional inward curve for protection, this Roman shield has been elaborately decorated with two pair of sheer brass eagle wings, and the outer shell is hand painted with good detail giving it a battle worn finish. Perfect for any Roman soldier costume – real crowd pleaser for holiday events and special shows!
