Roman Arena Shields

Roman shields were assigned to every Roman soldier just as swords and their uniforms were. In the arena, the Romans used the curved rectangular design of the Legionnaire shield and painted it blue and included the crown of leaves traditionally given to the victors.

Based upon original designs used centuries ago, these Roman shields are constructed from wood with a brass trim. The outer shell is linen covered and hand painted with good detail giving it a battle worn finish. Perfect for any Roman soldier costume – real crowd pleaser for holiday events and special shows!
