Knights Templar Medieval Shield Designs - Hanging or Battle-Ready
These fabulous medieval shields are hand-painted, fully functional and battle-ready. Armour and medieval shield symbols were used to identify medieval knights in battle, one-on-one combat and in jousting tournaments. A knight’s colors were personalized and unique. Designs for medieval shields would either represent which side the knight was on in a war, or which family they were related to in combat or jousting. The Knights Templar were distinguished by a uniquely shaped cross (known as The Templar Cross) as part of their medieval shield designs and surcoats. This version is hand-painted the traditional white background and red Templar shaped cross. Improve your medieval knight costume now with this functional shield.
Each of these medieval shields is available with either a hanging back-chain (perfect for interior decorating) or with two 1 1/2 inch genuine leather straps already attached so you can use it right out of the box. Made with the re-enactor in mind, these tough medieval shields should be easily approved as SCA quality. (Additional edge padding might be required by some SCA groups.)
