1917 Cutlass Pirate Sword
Best Value & Quality
The cutlass gained notoriety in 1860 when the U.S. Navy chose it as part of their standard issue for Navy personnel. It remained in continuous service for 57 years and was replaced in 1917 with this design. Over the years, this sword also became very popular as a pirate sword (pirates would steal them after a battle).
Functional Swords / Battle Ready Swords
This pirate sword is as authentic as possible, it is virtually an exact copy of an original in the personal collection of the manufacturer.
Our 1917 cutlass pirate sword features the signature 25 inch curved blade and a half basket guard (which is stamped from 18-gauge high carbon steel). The handle is made from carefully shaped hardwood, painted brown and secured to the tang by three heavy brass cutlers rivets. Both the blade and guard are blued to resist rusting.
A full length genuine leather scabbard is included free of charge.
The scabbard is an accurate reproduction of the original and is made of high quality leather and features brass and copper fixtures. It can be worn comfortably at the side on a pistol belt without chafing its owner. (see photo)
