First Knight Sword
This highly sought for sword design is based upon the 1995 movie sword found in the movie First Knight, starring actors Richard Gere and Sean Connery! Never released by the studio, this stunning sword has been improved and is now available exclusively from Real Armor of God.com.

After months of negotiations on design improvements with the same manufacturer the studio used, we now have a beautiful Medieval sword suitable for any sword collector or movie sword enthusiast. Perfect for those needing a Christian sword for Raising a Modern Day Knight programs too!

Unlike the original movie sword (which was a prop sword), we have redesigned the blade entirely using the best high carbon steel available in an Oakeshott Type IV design. It is wider at the shoulder, tapers nicely to a beautiful point and has a tapering fuller (groove). This blade design puts more weight in the hand to improve balance and increases cutting and thrusting capabilities, as well as, making the tip is easier and quicker to maneuver. We included a full-tang which is peened through the back of the pommel for the best strength possible (a high-end manufacturing process). The leather wrapped wood grip is wire wrapped for comfort and the polygon guard has been extended for improved performance.

We have an elaborately designed raised cross with red enamel inlay recessed into the center of each side of the carbon steel pommel. The polished steel glistens against the blood red Christian Cross. It is simply breathtaking!

No one knows why the studio decided to have a Christian cross on a movie sword used in a King Arthur story. It could be a desire to remind people that Jesus Christ is our First Knight. There is a parallel, in that Jesus defends us from sin and sacrificed himself for mankind so we could have forgiveness. He is our Champion, or First Knight (in real life), in the same way a Medieval king had his first knight serve as the champion of the king.

Functional Swords / Battle Ready Swords
Each First Knight Sword is made from hand forged, well tempered 1095 high carbon steel with full and wide tangs that are peened over the pommel for the most secure fit. All are a full 3/16-inch thick with no tapers to the cross section.

A full length genuine leather scabbard is included free of charge.
